The Countryside Centre Shop offers a wide range of gifts, maps and walking guides.

All profits from the shop are used towards the upkeep of the Countryside Centre.

Cash and cheques with a valid cheque guarantee card are welcome, but we regret that we are unable to accept credit cards.

The Downland Experience

The Downland Experience is a free exhibition focusing on the history of the downlands and, of course, Beachy Head.

Our exhibits describe the archaeology of the downloands, the flora and fauna present in the area and the incredible feats of engineering involved in building the Beachy Head Lighthouse.

We also have a number of activities available for our younger visitors.

The Sussex Gallery

The Sussex Gallery is host to revolving exhibitions of watercolours, oils and photographs representing a wide variety of styles from classic through to contemporary.

The majority of our exhibitors are from the local area and not surprisingly our downlands, the sea and our cliffs are a strong feature of much of their work.

We also play host to a permanent exhibition of art and craftwork from residents of the Chasely Trust. Chasely provides day care and medium to long term slow-stream rehabilitation for adults with major physical disabilities, many with brain injuries and other neurological disorders.

All work on display in the Gallery is available for sale through the Countryside Centre Shop.
